Less than 45 minutes up the road sits North Carolina’s capital, Raleigh, N.C. Not only are some of the most prominent state schools located there including UNC Chapel Hill, Duke and N.C. State, but the city has many attractions as seen in this article by the NY Times.

The North Carolina Museum of Art features outdoor artwork that is open to the public for free. “Gyre,” by Thomas Sayre, is one of the many works of art on the 164 acres of land.
